Our ultra-light camping bed is the minimalist complete solution for anyone who wants to travel and sleep in their car without any hassle.
• Weighing just 13.7 kg, it is a real lightweight and can be set up in less than 2 minutes (9.2 kg slatted frame + 4.5 kg IKEA boxes 4×45 l, without mattress).
• Ideal for delivery vans, vans, and station wagons (e.g., Peugeot Partner, Caddy, Berlingo, Kangoo, Dacia Dokker, Opel Combo, Mercedes Viano/Vito, T5/T6, Ford Galaxy)
• Flexible use even in rental cars, hire cars, or your parents' car – so even when installing a fixed camping bed is not desired or possible
• No permanent installation required – can be easily set up on either side of the vehicle without tools, easy to use and durable.
• Storage space access: simply pull out the boxes from under the slatted frame. The slatted frame of the front and rear boxes can also be folded up together with the mat.
• Ideal for vacations, business or weekend trips, travelling, festivals, and spontaneous overnight stays in the vehicle.

Generous storage space with pull-out boxes and foldable slatted frame
• The bed is extendable and therefore also suitable for smaller, compact vehicles.
• The bed can often be extended to a full 200 cm once the front seats have been folded forward.
• Length: infinitely adjustable from 173–200 cm (can also be adjusted to a minimum of 156 cm)
• Width of lying surface: 59 cm – suitable for mattresses up to 80 cm wide; a slight overhang on both sides is usually not a problem
• Height: depending on the box selected, a wide range of heights are possible; the height of the slatted frame on the boxes is 1.9 cm
• The flat surface on which the 4 boxes stand should be at least 160 cm long.
• One, two, or three boxes with slatted frames can also be used as stools, benches, or short children's beds (approx. 150 cm with 3 boxes).
• Outside of the travel season, the bed can be stored compactly or used as a guest bed with storage space.
Up to two boxes can be removed at the same time thanks to the self-supporting slatted frame construction.

Pull-out bed with individual spacing between the boxes
Our bed system is perfect for solo travelers—but can be extended into a double bed (200 × 118 cm) with just a few simple steps.
• One side of the bed remains permanently assembled and is used as a bench during the day, with four stable boxes as a base and storage space.
• The second side is added as needed: the matching boxes are stored behind the passenger seat, stacked inside each other to save space (IKEA boxes) or folded together (EURO folding box), and the two mattresses are simply placed on top of each other.
• The top of the stacked boxes serves as additional, easily accessible storage space for drinks, snacks, etc. The remaining boxes are ideal for loose items such as jackets, towels, or backpacks at night.

Depending on the model, the camping bed is suitable for the following boxes (without lids):
• IKEA Samla 45 l: 56 × 39 cm, 28 cm high (recommended: stackable, lightweight, transparent, and inexpensive), 4 pieces for €28
• IKEA Samla 65 l: 56 × 39 cm, 42 cm high (higher, slightly more storage space), 4 pieces for €40
or (EURO boxes are slightly wider than IKEA boxes)
• EURO Box 38 l: 60 × 40 cm, 22 cm high (particularly robust, not stackable), 4 pieces from €48
• EURO Box 56 l: 60 × 40 cm, 32 cm high (particularly robust, not stackable), 4 pieces from €54
• EURO Box 70 l: 60 × 40 cm, 40 cm high (particularly robust, cannot be stacked inside each other), 4 pieces from €80
EURO boxes offer extra flexibility: you can stack boxes of different heights to adjust the height of the storage space – particularly practical with flat boxes from 7.5 cm. In addition, two smaller boxes (40 × 30 cm) can be inserted crosswise instead of one large box (60 × 40 cm).
EURO boxes are also available as space-saving folding boxes.
On request, we can arrange for the delivery of the appropriate boxes directly to your home for a service fee.
EURO Box 70 l: 60 × 40 cm, 42 cm high
• Depending on your preference, a wide variety of mattresses, perhaps ones you already have, can be used. Sleeping pads, folding mattresses, or spring mattresses up to a width of 70-80 cm have proven to be effective. A slight overhang on both sides is usually not a problem.
• Folding mattresses have the advantage that they can be tucked away under the bed during the day and are available for as little as €25–40. For back sleepers, a very simple folding mattress is usually sufficient (e.g. 190×65×8.5 cm folding mattress). For side sleepers, we recommend somewhat thicker mattresses (e.g. 195×75×15 cm folding mattress).
• Suitable for mattresses up to 80 cm wide; a slight overhang on both sides is not a problem depending on the thickness of the mattress
Our camping beds are no less stable than a normal bed at home and have been tested with a static load of 250 kg.
• Despite their lightness, IKEA boxes and our slatted frames together form a reliable and robust system. On their own, IKEA boxes are not particularly stable, but the slatted frames enclose the boxes on the sides to form a stable unit.
• Each individual slatted frame with an IKEA box can therefore bear static loads of at least 250 kg – with even distribution, even 1000 kg per bed would be no problem!
• The camping bed version for EURO boxes offers extra stability. The boxes are particularly durable, but also heavier and cannot be stacked inside each other.
In many vehicles, we come across one of the following situations. With the right adjustments, the camping bed can often still be used without any problems.
If you’re unsure or your vehicle differs from the examples, simply send us a few photos or your vehicle details.
Together, we’ll work out which solution is best suited to your vehicle.
As a general rule:
The length (L) from the rear of the vehicle to the front seats when folded forward should be at least 190–200 cm to ensure your vehicle offers enough space to lie down and sleep.
How to check suitability:
Simply place four suitable boxes in the vehicle. This will immediately show you whether everything is stable or whether a level base (shown in green) needs to be added for support.
Suitable boxes for the camping bed
The boxes are not standing completely straight or are wobbling slightly:
• A simple base panel (e.g. OSB, approx. 50 × 160 cm) is often sufficient to provide a stable foundationb
• For a 190 cm mattress, a base panel length (B) of 160 cm is usually sufficient; a small overhang of the box is generally not a problem
• If necessary, simply place small wooden blocks underneath to prevent wobbling.
• Optionally, glued-down carpet tiles can prevent the boxes from slipping (4 pieces approx. €12)
• Recommended: 15 mm plywood, multiplex or OSB, pre-cut to widths from 50 cm, available at hardware stores from €10
The rear seat does not form a completely flat surface with the trunk floor.
As in Situation A, a base plate is used here; in addition, the difference in height (H) must be compensated for with a support structure (shown in green).
Proven solution:
• Place the base plate in position
• Compensate for the height difference (H) using blocks or vertical boards as a support structure
• Secure the support structure to the base plate
Important: Measure the height (H) carefully to ensure the base plate rests flush against the support structure at the rear and the rear seat at the front
Advantage: Additional storage space is created beneath the base plate for long or flat items.
Practical tip: A two-part base plate is particularly flexible. The front section can be quickly removed to use the rear bench seat without having to dismantle the entire base plate and sub-frame. For a double bed, two base plates placed side by side are more practical than one large one.
A solution is often possible here too.
Requirements:
The flat area between the rear and the rear seat (G) should be at least 120 cm long to allow for the installation of 3 boxes.
The frontmost, fourth slatted base is supported on a suitable base on the rear seat.
Here’s how to proceed:
• Choose boxes that are slightly taller than the rear seat (H) so that the slatted base resting on them extends beyond the rear seat.
• Standardised EURO boxes are available in a wide range of heights. Suitable crates for the camping bed:
• First, place the intended crates in the vehicle and check how their height (H) fits with the rear bench seat
• Determine the appropriate support (shown in green) for the front-most slatted base to bring it to the same height as the crates
Suitable supports include, for example:
• a firm triangular pillow, or alternatively without the fourth slatted frame, placed directly under the mattress
• a wooden slatted frame the size of a storage box’s base
• a custom-made structure made of slats or planks
A stable solution can often be found with little effort. The mattress also often compensates for minor unevenness.
Various securing strategies have proven effective in preventing beds and sofas from sliding around during the day and while driving.
• Pull them out as far as possible during the day to prevent movement in the direction of travel
• Carpeting effectively prevents sideways sliding; on smooth floors, inexpensive carpet tiles that are easy to attach with double-sided adhesive tape help
• Use rubber tensioners or clamp blocks to secure them in a lateral direction

We realise that a good camping bed is an investment – especially if you’re on a tight budget. That’s why we’d like to offer you two alternatives:
• DIY kit (€299 incl. delivery)
If you’re handy, we can offer you a kit at a lower price. It contains all the necessary parts and detailed instructions. We know from experience that building something from scratch usually takes more time, effort and money than you might initially think. Our DIY kit is therefore a good alternative – you benefit from a tried-and-tested system, a short build time and a fixed price, without getting bogged down in an extra project. You’ll save money and stress, and can get straight to work without any tedious preparation, measuring, adjusting or improvising. A Torx screwdriver is required for assembly.

We hope your camping adventure gets off to a great start – whether you choose a finished bed, a DIY kit or a special piece.
• We are passionate campers ourselves and love flexible travel—that's why we designed, developed, and optimized our camping bed over many trips. We were so impressed by this carefully thought-out solution that we didn't want to keep it to ourselves.
• Production takes place in collaboration with our partner companies and is 100% based in Germany. The beds are assembled by hand in our workshop.
• Because they are handmade, each piece is unique. Unlike industrial products, small variations such as scratches may occur. Especially with a natural material such as wood, irregularities are completely normal. They are part of the character of the material and do not affect its function—each bed is carefully checked before it is delivered to you.
